Fellow Veterans and Friend of Veterans,
Nomination and election season is upon us. This November will mark the two year point for the forum and it is my goal to have elections complete before the Annual Meeting in October. I would like to thank Kevin, Chris, Jennifer, and Kristin for their support these first couple of years. As well as other members of the board, Bill Hefley and Warren Hearnes. As well as other Veterans that have helped support events.
Nominations are due by 31 August. Elections will take place in September via electronic means.
The two requirements to serve as a forum board member and/or officer of the board are one(1) to be a member of the forum (free) and two(2) be an INFORMS member (which most of you are already).
If you are on the forum board and would like to remain on the board, let me know. We have four(4) officer positions, up to six(6) voting board member positions, and up to six(6) non-voting boards positions. More raised hands is always a good situation.
The officer positions include: President*, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, DEI Officer.
The by-laws contain more detail on those roles.
The forum is still discovering what its role is within INFORMS and to its membership. There is PLENTY of opportunity to shape the forum's future You can be part of that future. Thus far, given respective bandwidth of volunteers, we have limited our activities to the two biggest in-person events each year, Annual Meeting and the Analytics Conference. With a heavier focus on the latter of the two.
