Dr. Jose Ramirez is the associate director of the Institute for Operations Research at Galileo University. Dr. Ramirez received a B.S. in Computer Sciences Engineering and an M.Sc. in Operations Research from Galileo University, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. He was a recipient of the Fulbright-LASPAU scholarship from the U.S. Embassy in 2009. Dr. Ramirez's research interests are robust discrete optimization, network optimization, and supply chain optimization. He has more than 10 years of experience in teaching at Galileo and Texas A&M University. He also has worked as a researcher for consulting projects in transportation optimization, supply chain analysis and more, for global companies. He has served as president of the INFORMS Student Chapter at Texas A&M University, Faculty Advisor of the INFORMS Student Chapter at Galileo University, a judge in several poster competitions, and student mentor.
