The INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Section Practice Award
2013 Prize Winner:
Molson Coors Brewing Company, Pricing Solutions Limited,
and Queen’s School of Business
The RM&P Section Practice Award recognizes outstanding applications of revenue management and pricing techniques. As in previous years, the 1st-prize winner was selected based on impact, originality, and technical merit.
Recognizing the outstanding effort of an interdisciplinary team comprised of both practitioners and academics, the 2013 Prize has been presented to Molson Coors Brewing Company, Pricing Solutions Limited, and Queen’s School of Business for their initiative "Pricing and Promotions Analysis at Molson Coors Brewing Company." According to Warren Lieberman, Chair of the Awards Committee, “The team from Molson Coors, Pricing Solutions, and Queen’s School of Business addressed a mathematically complex revenue management problem that was data-intensive, involving market segmentation challenges across a portfolio of products. Their solution combines business process insights with technical advances, resulting in a state-of-the-art comprehensive system. The new system should provide implementation flexibility as it enables both strategic and tactical issues to be addressed, ultimately leading to increases in profitability."
The team members are Christine Jakovcic and Roberto Gonzalez,(Molson Coors Brewing Company), Jim Saunders, Harvey Mendoza, and Aime Kuiteing(Pricing Solutions Limited) and Yuri Levin, Jeff McGill, and Mikhail Nediak,(Queen’s School of Business).
The prize was awarded at the 2013 INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Section summer conference held on June 6 - 7 at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.
Chaired by Warren Lieberman (Veritec Solutions), Anton Kleywegt (Georgia Institute of Technology) and Montgomery Blair (Avis Budget Group) also served on the Practice Prize Awards Committee.Click on the following links for: Submission.
