Alex F. Mills is Associate Professor in the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York. He was previously Associate Professor of Operations and Decision Technologies at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He studies the design and operation of service systems, and his recent work focuses on managing operational disruptions in healthcare. Professor Mills has written several papers on the operational challenges faced by responders in the aftermath of a mass-casualty incident, including triage and resource allocation, patient prioritization and distribution, management of surge capacity, and coordination of care. Professor Mills received his PhD in Statistics and Operations Research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
