Dr. Yuval Cohen is a senior faculty member at Afeka Tel-Aviv college of Engineering, previously he served as the head of the Industrial Engineering program at the Open University of Israel. His areas of specialty are production planning, industrial learning, design of manufacturing control systems, and logistics management. Dr. Cohen has published many papers in these areas in various scientific journals. He served as an editorial board member for several scientific journals including:
• 2008-2015: International Journal of Information & Decision Sciences (IJIDS)
• 2011-2018"Journal of Information and Operations Management".
• 2009-2015 International Journal of Managing Information Technology (IJMIT)
Dr. Cohen is a vice chair of TC-5.1 committee (Plant Control and Industrial Logistics) of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). He regularly reviewed papers for several journals including: the International Journal of production Research (IJPR), Computers & Operations Research (COR), Computers & Industrial Engineering (CAIE), International Transactions in Operational Research (ITOR), and others.
Dr. Cohen received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh (USA), his M.Sc. from the Technion ― Israel Institute of Technology, and B.Sc. from Ben-Gurion University. He served several years as a senior operations planner at FedEx Ground (USA) and received several awards for his contributions to the hub and terminal network planning. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), and a full member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS).
