-Biography Reza is Senior Lecturer at Department of Informatics and Operations Management, Kingston Business School, Kingston University since January 2011. Before joining Kingston, Reza worked as Research fellow A (visiting Prof.) at Centre for Maritime Studies, National University of Singapore (NUS) where he has spent around 2 years in charge of Global Centre of Excellence (GCOE)- Transport Logistics Joint Research Centre, Kyoto, Japan, which was a cooperation between NUS and Kyoto University. At the same time, he was associate Prof. at Industrial Engineering department of Amirkabir University of Technology where he had started his academic career since 2003 as a tenure-track faculty member. Reza graduated with a PhD in Industrial Engineering (IE) from Sharif University of Technology in 2001 which is absolutely the best technological university in Iran and one of the bests in the Middle East; Its reputation due to the quality of its students, especially among top North American universities is undeniable. -Expertise Reza has developed and implemented models in various organizations to make strategic and tactical decisions like Logistics Network Design, Facility Location and Distribution Planning. He has published papers in top tier journals like European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR), Journal of Operational Research Society (JORS), Computers & Operations Research (COR), International Journal of Production Research (IJPR), International Journal of Production Economics (IJPE) and Annals of Operations Research (AOR). Moreover, Reza has several published and accepted books and book chapters under Springer-Verlag, Elsevier and IGI Global. -Research Interest Reza’s research interests are in the areas of Logistics/ Supply chain management, Facility location, Material handling systems, Facility layout, City logistics, Maritime logistics, and Vehicle routing, using traditional and modern Operations Research techniques. -Teaching Reza has taught Supply Chain Management, Facilities Design, Facilities Location, Transportation Planning, Graph Theory, Operations Research, Research Method, Production Operations Management, Project Management, Inventory Planning, Operations Research and Feasibility Studies. However, he will be involving mostly in Operations Management and Service Operations Management on the Kingston Business School while keeping Logistics & Supply Chain Management and also Facility Location as his first interests. -Experience Prior to moving to Kingston University, Reza has been spending around 13 years in academia and business. This includes 4.5 years at Sharif University of Technology as teaching fellow, 5.5 years at Amirkabir University of Technology as assistant and associate Prof., 2 years at National University of Singapore as research fellow. At the same time, he was manager of Logistics/ SCM Research Group at Institute of Trade Studies and Researches (ITSR) of Iran Ministry of Commerce (part-time) and also head of Research Group at Tehran Supply Chain Management Research Group (Certificated by Ministry of Culture and High Education in Iran: MCHE) (part-time) involving in business-funded project. -Consultancy Reza has developed and implemented models in various organizations to make strategic and tactical decisions like Logistics Network Design, Facility Location and Distribution Planning. He has had many grants over last 10 years from different industries even up to 110,000 USD.
