Kathryn Walter, CAP, is a Senior Operations Research Analyst at Avista Corporation, a utilities company in Spokane, WA, where she works on mathematical models that support better decision making. She is a former optimization consultant and a former military officer with BS and MS degrees in operations research from the US Coast Guard Academy and Columbia University, respectively. A full-time remote employee, she lives in the Washington, DC, area where she serves as the president of WINFORMS, the local chapter of INFORMS.
