    Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to join us on September 17 in Washington, DC, for Envisioning the Future of Global Supply Chains, a one-day conference held as part of The Johns Hopkins University's 150th anniversary celebrations.

The conference brings together leading scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and journalists to examine how geoeconomics, national and health security, and artificial intelligence are reshaping global supply chains.

    The program features four panels:

    • Geoeconomics & Weaponized Interdependence
    • Supply Chains: Economic & Management Angles
    • Supply Chains for Health & National Security
    • Supply Chains for Artificial Intelligence

The panels will be moderated by Shawn Donnan of Bloomberg, Liz Young and Amrith Ramkumar of The Wall Street Journal, and Ed Silverman of STAT.

We are also delighted to feature a keynote by Sebnem Kalemli-Ozcan of Brown University on global linkages, trade, and the macroeconomics of supply chain disruption. The panelists include Gad Allon (University of Pennsylvania); James Coburn (ARPA-H); Wayland Coker (ASPR); Stephen Colvill (Duke); Tinglong Dai (Johns Hopkins); Henry Farrell (Johns Hopkins); Arvind Govindarajan (McKinsey & Company); Melanie Hart (Atlantic Council); Sebnem Kalemli-Ozcan (Brown University); Nuno Limão (Georgetown University); Mary E. Lovely (Peterson Institute for International Economics); Layna Mosley (Princeton University); Nikolay Osadchiy (Emory University); Alessandro Rebucci (Johns Hopkins); Kim J. Ruhl (University of Wisconsin–Madison); Todd Schatzki (Analysis Group); Mariana Socal (Johns Hopkins); and Sridhar Tayur (Carnegie Mellon University).

The conversations will be particularly timely for the INFORMS community. Supply chains increasingly sit at the intersection of operations, economics, geopolitics, health security, and AI. The conference is designed to bring these communities into the same room to explore the research questions as well as the policy and managerial challenges ahead.
