This is a fantastic video that covers critical issues and questions for current folks in data science, analytics, optimization, etc. My preferred term remains analytics without borders (AWB) - pick and choose the right decision and information science tool that works for the problem. I would add look where the "agents of change" team is located and how much support do they have. See writing by John Milne on agents of change.

Subject: INFORMS Insights: Finding success in e-commerce
Thank you to Nirmit Chetwani, Manager of Data Science at Amazon, who was our July speaker in the INFORMS Insights webinar series.
He shares the following points:
- Cross-cutting data science and analytics concepts as applied to e-commerce industry (what you need to land a job in e-commerce/tech companies).
- Pros and cons of working as an analytics professional in a startup and tech giants (helpful for shortlisting what roles could suit you).
- Difference between identifying what your stakeholders want vs. what they need (in the context of science/analytics problems), which is critical to success in any role.
INFORMS Insights are held on the third Thursday of the month, you can see upcoming webinars at https://info.informs.org/informs-insights. Free for members, $19 for non-members.
