  • 1.  Call for Nominations - K-12 Subcommittee of the Education Outreach Committee

    Posted 06-28-2022 12:35

The INFORMS Education Outreach Committee (EOC) is seeking new members to join its subcommittee on K-12 education. The primary purpose of the EOC is to encourage students toward eventual careers in OR/MS and analytics, to raise awareness of these disciplines and their relevant applications among K- 12, community college, undergraduate, and graduate students and the faculty who teach these audiences. In addition, the committee aims to support/promote the teaching of OR/MS and analytics in K-12, community college,  early college, and graduate curricula.

The EOC is organized into three subcommittees, focused on K-12, undergraduate and graduate education. The K-12 subcommittee is tasked with identifying and recommending strategies for connecting with and influencing students and teachers at the K-12 level for the purpose of acquainting them with INFORMS and its activities, and to learn about OR and analytics methodologies and applications.

The EOC is currently seeking new members for the K-12 subcommittee. Individuals with an interest in and commitment to the objectives of the K-12 subcommittee, as outlined above, are encouraged to self-nominate. To do so, please complete the form in the link below which will ask you to provide a brief (3-5 sentences) discussion of your interest in and/or experiences with K-12 education or other k-12 educational outreach.
