We are proud to announce the winners of the Glover-Klingman Prize for the best paper published in Networks in 2018. This prize pays tribute to the high-quality work at the interface of operations research and computer science pioneered by Fred Glover and Darwin Klingman.  However, the award recognizes outstanding work in the general area of network modeling, analysis, and implementation, and is not limited to papers at the OR/CS interface.

The 2018 winners are Martina Fischetti and David Pisinger. They are to be congratulated for their insightful work entitled "Optimal Wind Farm Cable Routing: Modeling Branches and Offshore Transformer Modules." Each author will receive a cash award and a certificate bearing the following citation:

"This paper presents a comprehensive modeling approach to an important problem arising in the development of green energy, namely the configuration of turbines in an offshore wind park. The authors model and solve (using a combination of heuristic and exact algorithms) several variants of this problem in order to provide decisionmakers a range of options. Computational results are presented for several real-world instances of wind farms in the United Kingdom and Denmark. This well-written paper is an impressive study that incorporates and informs decisionmakers in the modeling and solution of an important problem in a rapidly changing technological area. As such, this paper certainly deserves to be the winner of the 2018 Glover-Klingman Prize."
