Operations Research (IEOR) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT
Bombay) invites applications for faculty positions at the level of Assistant
Professor. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering,
Operations Research, Management Sciences, or a related field. Candidates close
to completing Ph.D. may also apply. The position primarily involves
undertaking research, advising and teaching Ph.D. and Masters students.
Candidates with proven research work and training in the following areas will
be considered:
1. Contemporary operations management both in services (including energy,
finance, health and logistics sectors) and products (including digital
products).
2. Quantitative models, including data driven models for pricing and revenue
management, contract design, procurement, service level planning, resource
allocation, staffing and other areas.
3. System Dynamics and Simulation including distributed and hybrid simulation,
and simulation based optimization.
Candidates with excellent research work and very good academic background in
all other areas of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, broadly
construed, will continue to be considered.
IEOR at IIT Bombay offers M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees. There are excellent
