    Faculty Position in Operations Management and Quantitative Methods at Vanderbilt University

    The Operations Management and Quantitative Methods area at Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty appointment starting August, 2019. The search is focused at the junior (untenured) level but candidates at all ranks will be considered.  Applicants must have a PhD or DBA in Operations Management or related field by August 2019.  The candidate will be expected to conduct innovative, impactful research and teach in the MBA program.

    The Owen Graduate School of Management is engaged in graduate and undergraduate management education.  It has an enrollment of over 550 students in its MBA, Executive MBA, Americas MBA for Executives, Master of Science in Finance, Masters of Accountancy, Master of Marketing, and Master of Management in Health Care programs.  In addition, Owen School faculty members teach in the Vanderbilt University undergraduate business minor.  The Owen School enrolls students from all parts of the U.S. and 35 countries.  Founded in 1873, Vanderbilt University is an internationally recognized research university with student body of some 12,600 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, and approximately 1,430 full-time faculty (excluding faculty employed by the Medical Center), of whom 52 have their primary appointment in the Owen School.  The university is situated on a 330-acre campus located a mile and a half south of downtown Nashville.

    Home to more than 1.5 million people, the Nashville metropolitan area has over a dozen colleges and universities and features many cultural and recreational amenities including a symphony orchestra, professional sports, an extensive park system, great restaurants, and live music offerings across a broad variety of genres.  Major industries include healthcare, publishing, insurance and finance, education, and entertainment.  Nashville is frequently identified as one of the best U.S. cities for work, family, and quality of life by various national publications.
