We are now soliciting Expressions of Interest for potential hosts of the 2022 TRIennial Symposium on Transportation ANalysis (TRISTAN). TRISTAN is held every 3 years, and attracts researchers from around the world, including academics and practitioners from both the private and public sectors. In addition to presentations, the symposium emphasizes discussion and reflection on research ideas and on possible collaborations.

For 2022, we seek Expressions of Interest (EOI) to host the next TRISTAN. General requirements are:

    • The symposium venue should be on an island (subject to loose interpretation)
    • The symposium is typically organized across five weekdays, with the middle day (Wednesday) a day of social networking and pleasant excursions.
    • The symposium is organized around the submission of high-quality extended abstracts, with strict refereeing and intentionally limited participation.
    • No formal paper is expected for the conference, but full papers may be submitted after the conference for consideration in special issues of selected high-quality journals.

TRISTAN is guided by an International Scientific Committee made up of distinguished researchers, previous hosts, and other members of the international community in the topic areas of interest. The International Scientific Committee is available to advise conference organizers on common practices and on symposium logistics.

The details for the EOI are in the attached PDF.  An EOI, and any questions about this process, should be sent to Mark Hickman, Local Chair of TRISTAN 2019, at m.hickman1@uq.edu.au. Any EOI received before 17 June 2019 (the opening of TRISTAN 2019) will be given full consideration.

     With best regards,

    Mark Hickman
