    Dear all,

IISE LSC (Logistics and Supply Chain) and FDP (Facilities Design and Planning) tracks are excited to co-host a blockchain tutorial at the 2021 IISE Annual Conference. It will be a live session, from 11:40 am to 1:00 pm ET on May 25 (Tuesday). It is given by Dr. Hong Wan from NCSU.

More details are as follows. Look forward to "seeing" you there!

    -ABOUT THE TUTORIAL-

Blockchain is a distributed, append-only digital ledger (database). The technology has caught much attention since the emergence of cryptocurrency, and there is an increasing number of blockchain applications in a wide variety of businesses. The concept, however, is still novel to many members of the simulation and operations research community. In this tutorial, we introduce the blockchain technology and review its frontier operations-and-data-related research. There are exciting opportunities for researchers in simulation, system analysis, and data science.

    -ABOUT Dr. Hong Wan-

Dr. Hong Wan is an associate professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on the areas of  experimental design and data analysis of complex simulation models and blockchain.  She is the director of the ISE blockchain lab, and initiated the Purdue Blockchain Lab, which is the first system-based blockchain lab in US.  She serves as the editor in chief of Journal of Blockchain Research and the associate editor of ACM TOMACS. Her email address is email{hwan4@ncsu.edu and her website is https://www.ise.ncsu.edu/people/hwan4/
