The Quality, Statistics, and Reliability (QSR) cluster of Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) is inviting QSR student members to participate in the Student Introduction and Interaction session and the Best Student Poster Competition at INFORMS Annual Meeting 2019.
Student Introduction and Interaction Session -The Student Introduction and Interaction Session is designed for QSR student members to build their professional network, show up their talents, and learn from invited guests. In this session, each student will be given two minutes to deliver an elevator speech about his/her research interests and accomplishments; Senior QSR members, junior faculty members, and industry guests are invited to interact with all attendees.
Best Student Poster Competition - A parallel Best Student Poster Competition will be hold at the same room. Students are encouraged to prepare poster presentations to have better exposure. All posters will enter the competition automatically. A winner will be selected by a panel of judges, announced at the QSR business meeting, and awarded a certificate.
All speakers and poster presenters will be included in printed brochures; the brochures will be distributed to all attendees and among the QSR community. Invitations to this session will be sent to department chairs and employers that have interests in recruiting QSR students.
Participation in these two sessions is free of charge. The session plans to have 25 student speakers due to the limited capacity. Students who are on job market and/or have poster presentations will be given higher priority. If interested, please use the following link to register:
