Global Engineering Education (GEE) Forum is an engineering education centered division of the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International (IEOM).  This two-day virtual conference will focus on engineering education during the disruption caused by the world-wide COVID pandemic, and intended to bring together researchers and practitioners with interest in online and virtual learning environment and techniques used in teaching in these modes.

IEOM Society has been conducting international conferences with primary focus on industrial and systems engineering as well as operations management and related subject over the past decades.  The IEOM conferences have been attended by over 15,000 from over 65 counties.  In each of these conferences there has always been a separate track on GEE.  However, this virtual conference will be IEOM's first attempt in offering a conference dedicated solely to GEE.

The 2020 Global Engineering Education Conference invites researchers and educators to deliver virtual presentations on any of the following track themes:

    • Challenges in effectively instructing technical subjects (both lecture and laboratory) during the COVID pandemic disruption
    • Investigation and comparison of the effectiveness of various online/virtual delivery modes
    • Teaching/learning tools, hardware/software, and methodologies used in online/virtual environment, and their suitability in delivering online/virtual classes
    • Methods and techniques for measuring and comparing the effectiveness of online/virtual vs face to face classes

    Paper submissions:

Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts (no more than 1000 words) by October 1, 2020.  Submission of Full paper is optional (less than 5,000 words).  All extended abstracts and full papers will undergo the usual peer review; papers will appear in (online) IEOM Conference Proceedings.
