    We are proud to announce the POMS Applied Research Challenge finalists. These finalists have been selected by the academic panel. The winner will be selected by the practitioner judge panel at the POMS Annual Meeting in Houston.

     

    In alphabetical order:

     

    1) How Does Dynamic Pricing Affect Customer Behavior on Retailing Platforms? Evidence from a Large Randomized Experiment on Alibaba. Dennis Zhang and Lingxiu Dong (WUSTL Olin Business School), Hengchen Dai (UCLA Anderson School of Management), Fangfang Qi, Nannan Zhang, Xiaofei Liu, and Zhongyi Liu (Alibaba Group)

     

    2) Leveraging Comparables for New Product Sales Forecasting. Lennart Baardman (MIT OR Center), Igor Levin (Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Inc.), Georgia Perakis (MIT Sloan School of Management), Divya Singhvi (MIT OR Center)

     

    3) Minimizing Multimodular Functions and Allocating Capacity in Bike-Sharing Systems. Daniel Freund, Shane G. Henderson, and David B. Shmoys (Cornell University)

     

    The final presentations will take place on Friday May 4 at 4:30pm in Grand Ballroom D (check the conference program for any last minute change). The winner will be announced at the President's Reception on Saturday at 6:30pm.
