    The Health Systems Track Division of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering (IISE) announces the Health Systems Track Best Paper Award whose objective is to recognize excellence among its members. The award program brings prestige to the Health Systems Division as well as to the recipients honored.

    Three finalists for the Best Paper Award will be selected to make oral presentations at the 2019 IISE Annual Conference to be held in Orlando, FL, from May 18-21, 2019. All finalists will receive an award certificate. The winner will also receive a plaque. The Best Paper Award will be presented at the Session Name of the Health Systems Track during the 2019 IISE Annual Conference.

    The broad criteria for selecting the recipient of the Health Systems Track Best Paper Award are: (a) academic/healthcare implementation significance (originality, depth, and completeness of the work and its potential impact on future research); and (b) research relevance to Health Systems (importance of the problem and its impact on the practice of Health Systems).

    Eligibility Requirements and Application Process:

    * The paper topic should fit the Health Systems themes.

    * Previous finalists who wish to compete again should submit an entirely different paper. However, past winners are not eligible for the competition.

    * The finalists will be announced before the conference and will present their papers in the session of Health Systems Best Paper Competition at the 2019 IISE Annual Conference.

    * Paper considered for this competition MAY NOT be simultaneously submitted to other competitions in the IISE Annual Conference.

    * IISE Conference and Health Systems division do NOT own copyright of the papers submitted to this competition. However, all participants are encouraged to also submit abstracts / papers to the Health Systems track using conference submission system.

    * Paper format: Follow the paper guidelines and requirements of IISE conference proceedings.

    * To enter, please submit a blinded and unblinded version of the paper, all in electronic format (.PDF files ONLY), with subject "Health Systems Best Paper Competition" to the 2019 contest coordinators Dr. Wen Cao, wen.cao@peninsula.org, no later than Jan 18, 2019. Late or incomplete submissions will not be eligible for the contest.

    If you have any questions, please send an email (with subject "Health Systems Best Paper Competition") to the coordinators. All submitted papers will be reviewed and ranked by external referees and finalists will be announced on Mar 29, 2019. The winner of the competition will be decided upon the review evaluation and oral presentation.
