The 2019 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Seattle is offering a special pre-conference seminar that's perfect for the PhD student contemplating a career in practice or academia, the new faculty member just starting out, or the academic who wants to improve their connection with students in the classroom.

Attend the INFORMS Combined Colloquia. Deadline to Apply is July 31!

The 2019 INFORMS Combined Colloquia will take place on October 18-19. Choose from one of these three outstanding colloquia designed to advance your career:

    • Doctoral Student Colloquium (DSC): Recently reorganized to better help rising PhD students in their second or third year to make the critical decision whether to pursue an academic or practice career
    • New Faculty Colloquium (NFC): An excellent introduction to the challenges of a career in academia for junior faculty
    • Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium (TEC): Provides great guidance for those who want the best methods of connecting in the classroom and teaching analytics, operations research, and management science to students at all levels

INFORMS has streamlined the application process and introduced a straightforward fee structure - $100 for students, $235 for all others. The colloquia are affordable and easy to attend. Note that additional support is available for PhD students through WORMS (Women in OR/MS Forum) and MIF (Minority Issues Forum) sponsorship.

The Combined Colloquia will begin on Friday evening with a welcome reception for all participants and will continue all day Saturday with informative sessions, good food, and plenty of time to socialize and network.

The deadline is fast approaching! All nomination packages must be received by July 31, so please respond today! For complete nomination requirements and to make your submission, click here.

Sandra D. Eksioglu is serving as chair of the 2019 Combined Colloquia Committee. The chairs of the individual colloquium are Nelson Uhan (TEC), Hugh Medal (DSC), and co-chairs Siqian Shen and Nick Freeman (NFC).

Note: All colloquia participants must also register for the 2019 INFORMS Annual Meeting.

We look forward to seeing you in Seattle!
