    Editor-in-Chief, INFORMS Transactions on Education

    Deadline for Nominations: March 14, 2021

    The final term of Jeroen Belien as editor-in-chief of the journal INFORMS Transactions on Education (ITE) will expire on December 31, 2021. Based on recommendations from the INFORMS Publications Committee, the president of INFORMS has appointed a committee to conduct a full search for a new editor-in-chief. The committee intends to propose a candidate for approval by INFORMS no later than June 1, 2021.

    ITE publishes research articles on education and learning in operations research, management science, and analytics (ORMSA), and encourages the creation and dissemination of relevant educational materials and classroom-tested pedagogical approaches.     The Committee invites all members of INFORMS to participate in the selection process through any or all of the following means:

    • Completing our survey to provide your opinions and comments on the current state of the journal and recommendations for change, if any: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SKTPC3S
    • Recommending a candidate to serve as Editor-in-Chief.
    • Submitting a self-nomination for consideration as Editor-in-Chief.

To recommend a candidate, please provide the candidate's name, email address, and a brief statement of their suitability for the position. Recommended candidates will be invited by the Search Committee to submit nomination materials.     Evaluation criteria for the editor-in-chief of ITE will include:

    • Dedication to and enthusiasm for the mission and success of ITE
    • A demonstrated interest in a broad range of topics in the field
    • A demonstrated record of research in the field
    • Demonstrated experience in and commitment to pedagogical innovation in the ORMSA classroom
    • Relevant editorial experience
    • Vision of the role of scholarly publications in the electronic and open-access age
    • Commitment to the workload involved
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage the editorial process
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work with people
