    The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) at the University of Missouri-Columbia seeks up to two energetic, dynamic lecturer/instructor in Industrial Engineering.  The unranked, non-regular faculty member will join a diverse team that is actively pursuing new frontiers in engineering education and research in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment. 

    Candidates with backgrounds in manufacturing, human factors, applied statistics, operations research or data science are encouraged to apply.  Highly desirable are candidates who can teach broadly across the breadth of industrial engineering topics.  In addition to teaching, the lecturer/instructor will have opportunities to mentor students, serve on graduate student committees, and participate in research projects.

    Candidates must have at least a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field by the start date.  A PhD degree or relevant industry experience is desirable.  Successful candidates will possess outstanding communication and teamwork skills, be able to demonstrate the application of innovative teaching methods, have evidence of teaching effectiveness in engineering, and be committed to student success.  This is a nine-month contract appointment with potential for summer courses and annual renewal at the discretion of the University. Starting date is anticipated to be August 17, 2020.
