The February 2019
issue of
Networks addresses both classical network optimization problems as well as network approaches to novel applications.
This issue contains articles that study: (a) the application of a new type of graph coloring to wavelength routing and assignment, (b) computationally effective reduction techniques for Steiner tree problems, and (c) a bidirectional A* approach for resource-constrained shortest path problems. Other articles provide network optimization modeling and solution of novel applications: design of a network of ground stations to optimize data transfer from an orbiting satellite, and mapping a minimum risk journey through free-floating mine fields.
We trust that the readership of INFORMS will find these contributions to be of some interest.
