Dear INFORMS Members in the Pacific Northwest Region,
On behalf of the 2019 executive board of the Pacific Northwest chapter, I am soliciting nominations for the following executive board positions in 2020:
- Vice President/President-Elect: assumes duties of the absent president and administers cultural and social activities.
- Secretary: administers correspondence and amendments to bylaws (Section VIII), announces meetings, and maintains contact with the Institute. Files annual report to the Institute that describes chapter activities.
- Treasurer: is responsible for financial matters, to include receipt of all financial reports from the Institute and conveyance of financial information to the chapter membership. Approves all expenditures and monitors receipts or conveys receipts to the Institute in a fiscally sound manner.
Note that according to the chapter's bylaws, there is no election for President. This is an automatically promoted position, derived from Vice President/President-Elect.
If you are interested in running for any of the above positions, please send me an email (shervin 'at' umich.edu) with (1) your brief bio, (2) your photo, (3) the position you want to run for, and (4) list of similar or relevant positions held in the past and/or contributions to INFORMS community (or the Pacific Northwest chapter), no later than Friday January 23rd. Once we receive the nominations, we will set up the online voting system before the end of the year.
