    Job Description:
    The successful candidate will be part of a partnership research project to work on the modelling of healthcare resource management in response to a pandemic such as the COVID-19. Our goal is to model the capacity of the healthcare system in British Columbia during the COVID-19 pandemic based on different infection disease models.

    The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary national research team involved in the investigation of health supply chain across provincial health systems in response of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this research is to increase knowledge and capacity of health care supply chains to meet the emergent needs for quality care of COVID-19 patients and public health efforts to prevent future outbreaks.

    The successful candidate will lead research activities, develop deep learning and machine learning algorithm to improve the data analytics capability of health care supply chains. The initial appointment is for six months, starting as soon as possible. The renewal of the appointment for a full year will depend on mutual consent, satisfactory performance, and funding availability.

    Qualifications:
    Applicants must
    1. be a graduate student or hold a Ph.D. (a post-doctoral position will be considered for Ph.D. graduate if the Ph.D. degree is not older than three years by the application deadline) in a relevant field such as computer sciences, computer engineering, management sciences, data analytics or business intelligence.
    2. demonstrate merits and excellent scientific production in deep learning, machine learning or other artificial intelligence relevant fields,
    3. be proficient with tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Python, Jupyterlab, Pandas and similar data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence packages,
    4. have strong research skills relevant to supply chain modelling and data analytics,
    5. be proficient in English, both spoken and written, and
    6. have team working abilities.
