    Positions
As part of a continuing growth initiative, the Department of Management of Tilburg University invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions in Supply Chain Management. For these positions we seek candidates at the Assistant Professor level, including experienced Assistant Professor. In addition, subject to final budgetary approval, we are seeking applications for at least one position at the Associate or Full Professor level (broadly defined); see below for details about the senior positions.

We are looking for candidates with exceptional research potential and strong teaching ability, whose work fits our orientation towards operations and supply chain scholarship from a managerial and empirical perspective. The candidate must have obtained, or expect to obtain shortly, a PhD or equivalent degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Management Science, or a closely related field (These are NOT positions in operations research; our school includes a separate department in Econometrics and Operations Research.) We are able to hire applicants to join the Department in any month during 2020. ABD applicants will be expected to complete their Ph.D. prior to taking up employment.

    Department and Conditions
The Department of Management is part of the School of Economics and Management (TiSEM) at Tilburg University. As a whole, the department consists of 38 tenured or tenure-track faculty members and 13 lecturers. Within the department, the Information and Supply Chain Management (ISCM) section conducts research in the field of supply chain management and operations management, as well as information management and information systems, from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives.

The current members of the department, including its ISCM section, are listed at www.tilburguniversity.edu/mgt. Department members come from leading universities in North America, Asia and Europe. We are a diverse and collegial group of research-oriented colleagues, including a terrific group of junior and recently hired scholars. The working language of the department and school is English.

In addition to bachelor programs, the Department is hosting five Master's programs. One of them is MSc Supply Chain Management. In addition, the Department houses two tracks of TiSEM's Research Master and Ph.D. programs, which prepare researchers for productive academic careers with excellent international placements.

The department has a very strong research orientation with a focus on high-quality publications. We aim to maximize the research time available to research-active faculty, and working conditions are otherwise comparable to major research universities in Europe and North America. The teaching load for pre-tenure faculty is the equivalent of two courses plus guidance of Bachelor and Master's thesis projects per year (40% teaching time). We expect multiple publications in top journals over the tenure clock. Compensation is competitive with similar schools, and we provide guaranteed travel and starting research budgets. Faculty moving to the Netherlands may be eligible for 30% tax abatement for a period of five years.
