    General Faculty – Quantitative Analysis
Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia

The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for a General (non-tenure track) faculty position in Quantitative Analysis, beginning in the fall of 2020. Applicants should generally have a PhD in Decision Sciences, Data Science, Management Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, or related areas by the date of appointment.

General faculty applicants are expected to bring something distinctive to the School, such as outstanding teaching, high visibility and effectiveness in working with practicing managers and executives, or a particularly noteworthy research niche.  Most commonly, general faculty will be on either a Teaching Track or a Practice Track.  For the Teaching Track, primary responsibilities would be teaching and developing curricular materials.  For the Practice Track, primary responsibilities would be teaching in both MBA and Executive Education programs and writing with a view to influencing practice.  General faculty applicants typically bring a distinctive competency to the School without necessarily being expected to engage in the breadth of contribution of a tenured or tenure-track faculty.

The Quantitative Analysis (QA) area at Darden specializes in influential academic and practitioner-oriented research, and teaching excellence.  There is broad latitude with respect to specific area of research interest.  The area offers a variety of required and elective courses to residential and executive MBA students, including a concentration in Data Analytics.  Topics currently taught include decision analysis, data analysis, optimization, data science in business, behavioral decision making, games and auctions and project management.  The area also helps staff a Master of Science in Business Analytics program.  QA faculty also teach actively in Darden's non-degree Executive Education programs.

The Darden School of Business is a top-rated global business school. The University of Virginia is regarded as one of the nation's finest public universities. Charlottesville is consistently ranked among the best places to live in the United States.
