    Collegiate Professor of Management/Director of the Integrated Security Research and Education Center (ISERC)

    The Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech invites applicants for a faculty member in the Department of Management with research and teaching interest in the integrated security area. This person is expected to serve as the Director of the Integrated Security Research and Education Center (ISERC). Developed as a part of Virginia Tech's university-wide, multi-disciplinary focus on Integrated Security, the ISERC is a new dedicated interdisciplinary facility for security education and research. The Director will provide leadership for the ISERC by actively providing outreach to industry, supporting ISERC faculty and curriculum development, and acting as the focal point for ISERC related activities. He/she will interact with the multidisciplinary Integrated Security Destination Area Stakeholders Committee of Virginia Tech. The faculty member will teach courses related to management of cybersecurity, assist in developing scenario-based simulations in the ISERC, and teach courses in management in an area related to his/her strength and department needs. Teaching areas in management include data analytics, strategy, organizational behavior, human resources, ethics, international business, and entrepreneurship. The faculty member is expected to publish research in the areas of integrated security, data analytics, policy and decision making, and/or pedagogy. Consistent with the University and College Strategic plan, s/he will contribute to enriching our data-driven society through knowledge and application of integrated security and data analytics. The position will be filled at the assistant or associate collegiate professor level depending on qualifications. This is a non-tenure track, full-time, academic year position and not intended for tenure transfer but advancement in rank is achievable. The position is based in Blacksburg.

    Integrated Security is one of the Destination Areas (https://www.provost.vt.edu/destination-areas.html) at Virginia Tech. The Integrated Security Destination Area focuses on understanding and fostering a world in which individuals, institutions, and nations are secured by technology and social systems that follow ethical principles and promote values of social justice. Faculty working together in this area are bringing a transdisciplinary approach to the complex range of human and systems security challenges. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in transdisciplinary research, curriculum, and/or outreach initiatives with other university faculty working in the Integrated Security Destination Area.

    Required Qualifications: A PhD or terminal degree in a field related to the management of cybersecurity. Demonstrated work experience in the areas of data analytics and integrated security. Research in data analytics, integrated security, or closely related areas.

    Preferred Qualifications:  Skills in simulation, modeling, visualization of security events. Experience working with corporate and government entities and funded research (federal, company-sponsored, or other). Experience working with a Security Operations Center or an enterprise cybersecurity or information security system. Desire to work in an interdisciplinary team.
