Winter Simulation Conference Call for Industrial and COVID Case Studies - August 3

  • 1.  Winter Simulation Conference Call for Industrial and COVID Case Studies - August 3

The deadline for full papers for the Winter Simulation Conferee has passed but we have TWO case studies tracks this year. In addition to the traditional industrial case studies, we will also have a track focused on work done related to COVID-19. More information on the COVID track, entitled COVID-19 - Modeling the Curve and Its Impact, is below.

For all case studies, no full-length paper is necessary - only a 150-word abstract and a two-page extended abstract is required to be submitted for consideration. The extended abstract should describe the problem, the simulation methods used, the results, and the impact/benefits of the project. Those case studies selected for presentation at WSC will have their abstract appear in the final program of WSC and on the WSC Archive website to share what they have learned modeling real-world problems.

Case study extended abstracts are due August 3!

COVID-19 - Modeling the Curve and Its Impact
The COVID-19 pandemic has offered a wide variety of opportunities to apply simulation to immediate problems affecting hundreds of lives. Researchers who have been solving some of these complex problems might have been too busy to write up a full paper in time for the April conference submission deadline for a conference in December. This track has been designed to allow flexibility in presenting the relevant and important work being done in response to this pandemic.

The track will consist of 25-minute presentations plus 5 minutes for questions and answers. The presentations should focus on a specific COVID-19-related problem where simulation was utilized to conduct an analysis and provide recommendations for potential solutions. Abstracts are due August 3!
