    The Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL) at the University of Luxembourg is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management with a focus on teaching and research in areas to include, but not limited to, sustainable operations, data analytics, supply chain management, and operations management.  In case of an excellent more senior candidate, appointment at the level of Associate Professor (permanent contract) can be considered. 

     

    Researchers at the LCL have an excellent research record with publications in top tier journals including, but not limited to, Operations Research, Production & Operations Management, Marketing Science, and Transportation Science. Candidates for this role should be able to demonstrate and develop a strong record of scholarly work and publications in top-tier journals.  

     

    The successful candidate will play a key role in consolidating the LCL as a leader in research and education in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Faculty members at the LCL are expected to lead research activities with a focus on strategic research areas, foster and lead interdisciplinary research particularly with other research units at the University of Luxembourg. Evidence of grant-related research funding is a plus.

     

    The core educational program at the LCL is a one-year professional master in logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) incorporating a 4-week visit to the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA, and engaging industry partners in applied thesis projects. The master program attracts diverse, high calibre students, with graduates securing positions in companies such as Amazon, ExxonMobil, and Cargolux.  As the LCL also has a growing PhD program, the candidate will engage in developing and delivering graduate (masters and doctoral) level classes, as well as executive level education in supply chain management, logistics, and related fields.

     

    The LCL has an active outreach program with a focus on developing partnerships with industry and universities throughout Luxembourg and Europe.  A conference is hosted on an annual basis alongside executive education, roundtables and other outreach activities, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of and play active role in these activities.

     

    The LCL is a joint initiative of the University of Luxembourg and the MIT Global SCALE Network. The LCL is part of the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance at the University of Luxembourg.
