The Military and Security Society (MAS) sponsors three awards that are great opportunities for students, academics, and practitioners:
- Bonder Scholarship for Applied Operations Research in Military and Security Applications - promotes the development and application of process modeling and operations research (OR) analyses to defense-related applications, including military and national security issues. - Koopman Prize - recognizes the best published paper on military operations research topics directly related to MAS goals. Contact Dr. Matthew J. Robbins, robbins@afit.edu
- Steinhardt Prize - awarded for outstanding contributions to Military Operations Research and is awarded for life work rather than for any particular contribution. Contact Dr. Richard F Deckro, richard.deckro@afit.edu.
I know there is a lot of great work going on in the MAS focus area – the Council and awards committee wants to know about it! Please consider nominating those in your network, and even consider nominating yourself. Graduate students working in security – please definitely consider nominating yourself – we cannot learn about our next generation of researchers without learning about what you're working on!
