The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) School of Management invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in Management Science at the Assistant Professor level, starting March or August 2021. Candidates should have a Ph.D. (completed or imminent) in Operations, Business Administration, Management Science, Supply Chain Management, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field, and demonstrate a strong commitment to research. Candidates with a proven successful research track may also apply at the Associate Professor level.

The PUC School of Management is among the top 100 in the world (QS rankings - 2020), and it has been consistently ranked first among all Business and Management schools in Latin America. We have 2,000 undergraduates, 400 graduate students, and around 35 full-time faculty members. Most faculty members in our group hold Ph.D. degrees from top universities. Journals in which our faculty have published in the past five years include Management ScienceJournal of Operations Management, Operations Research, Production & Operations Management, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, among others (See this link for our Business Economics/Finance/Management Science research faculty roster, and a list of select research publications).

The School is strongly committed to fostering a high-quality research environment. Research for junior faculty is supported through start-up grants, reduced teaching and administrative load, and numerous opportunities to apply for internal and external grants. We offer an internationally competitive compensation package. The teaching load for our research-oriented faculty is two-to-three courses per year, either at the undergraduate or MBA level. Knowledge of Spanish is NOT required.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, but candidates are encouraged to apply by September 30, 2020. Candidates planning on submitting a later application should contact us (at our personal emails below). We will continue reviewing applications until the positions are filled.

Application packages should consist of a cover letter explaining why the candidate is interested in the position, a curriculum vitae, a research statement, one or two working papers or publications, and the name of three recommenders familiar with the candidate's experience as a researcher and scholar. Please submit all documents in an e-mail to ms-search@facea.uc.cl. Candidates should also arrange for the recommendation letters to be submitted directly by their recommenders to the same e-mail. Candidates attending the INFORMS virtual meeting should include in their application materials details on their session (title, general coordinates) if available.

Follow-up interviews with selected applicants will be conducted through video-conference starting in October.

Any inquiries regarding the application process can be addressed to the Management Science search committee: Prof. Bernie Quiroga (bfquirog@uc.cl), Prof. Ricardo Montoya (ricardo.montoya@uc.cl), or Prof. Francisco Ruiz-Aliseda (f.ruiz-aliseda@uc.cl). We will be glad to answer all questions.

    With warm regards,
