    Dear colleagues,

In light of the continuing restrictions which make it difficult for us to meet in person, and after a successful informal trial run earlier in the year, we are organising a new series of online events, sponsored by the Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment section of INFORMS. These will, at least initially, run monthly, with each event consisting of a talk by a senior researcher in one of ENRE's areas of interest, as well as a complementary talk by a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher. The events will be recorded to be available for those who cannot attend live, and will be followed by further asynchronous discussion on this website: https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/enre/

The main goal of this series is to allow our research discussions to continue even when access to conferences is diminished, especially for junior researchers. Anyone is welcome to attend. Sessions will be advertised on the website https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/enre/, on INFORMS Connect, and on social media. For access to the Zoom link and/or to be added to our mailinglist, please email h.vanderweijde@ed.ac.uk.

We are launching the series with two excellent seminars bookending the Annual Meeting, on October 29th and December 10th, see https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/enre/upcoming-events/ or the attached flyer for details.
Thank you to Frederic Murphy (Temple University), David Wogan (Asia Pacific Energy Research Center), Andy Philpott & Tony Downward (University of Auckland) for leading the launch!

Stay tuned for further announcements about seminars in 2021.

If you enjoy these sessions and are a member of INFORMS, please consider signing up to become a member of ENRE, which gives access to all community events and helps us continue our work.
