Associate/Full Professor Position at ISE, University at Buffalo

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for the positions of Associate Professor or Full Professor. We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate effectively in a team environment and in a diverse community of students and faculty and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will have a record of scholarly accomplishments, teaching experience, and a sustained externally funded research program. Preference will be given to candidates that can demonstrate a commitment to collaboration in their previous research program. Desirable areas of research expertise are any that complement the existing research strengths in the department in advanced and sustainable manufacturing design, security and defense, healthcare and health systems, and transportation and logistics.

The UB ISE department currently has 24 faculty and a long history of scholarship and education in Industrial and Systems Engineering, offering B.S., M.S., Ph.D., and combined degrees with concentrations in operations research, human factors, and production systems. Please see www.ise.buffalo.edu for more information about the department.

The UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) offers competitive salaries at all faculty ranks, and its departments are key players in university initiatives such as Research and Education in Energy Environment and Water (RENEW) and Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics (ISTL) that can provide faculty at all ranks with additional resources to support their successful research programs.

The University at Buffalo (UB), a member of the prestigious American Association of Universities, is the largest and most comprehensive university in The State University of New York (SUNY) system, with about 20,000 undergraduates and 10,000 graduate students and 1600 fulltime faculty. The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences has 6,000 students enrolled across 9 academic departments.

Buffalo is a city with a rapidly growing economy, eclectic neighborhoods, world-class art galleries and museums, a vibrant theater and music community, the Lake Erie waterfront, a city-wide system of parks designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, and major and minor league sports teams. The awe-inspiring Niagara Falls is just 20 minutes away. The department is located on the UB North Campus in suburban Amherst, an area that combines outstanding public schools and services with a surprisingly low cost-of-living.
