INFORMS staff had the opportunity to tour the Hunt Valley UPS facility today and our brains are about to burst! Operations research and analytics has taken the delivery company to new heights, expediting service and efficiency. Today, we got to see how it all works… the sorting, labeling, packing and delivering. We even got to play a small role in putting a few packages on a few trucks. Things at UPS are really going to get busy with the holiday season rolling around. How do they prepare? How do they manage the uptick in packages? We have all the details.
