    Position Description

    We invite applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in supply chain and operations management or related discipline, such as applied statistics, by the starting date of the appointment, August 31, 2020. Preference will be given to applicants with strong evidence of research on contemporary and impactful problems in the domain of supply chain and operations, as well as the potential to excel in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Applicants with rigorous training in empirical methods (e.g., statistical, econometric, experimental, and/or data-analytic methods) are required.

    Program/Unit Description:

    The Supply Chain and Operations (SCO) Department in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota has 11 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 3 full-time teaching faculty. The department faculty teach courses in the undergraduate, MBA, Ph.D., and other specialty programs, and conduct a wide variety of research in the Supply Chain and Operations discipline. The department is home to the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program, targeted at high potential working professionals, and the Juran Center for Research in Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality. In 2018, Gartner ranked the Carlson School's undergraduate program in supply chain management 11th and Master of Science program in supply chain management 6th in the U.S. The department has an active doctoral program with 12 full-time students currently in residence.
