Call for Abstracts & Papers
2021 IISE Annual Conference & Expo
Palais des Congrès de Montréal, Montreal, Canada
May 22 – May 25, 2021
Track: Energy Systems
Dear colleagues,
The Energy Systems Division of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Energy Systems Track at the 2021 IISE Annual Conference & Expo. The conference is a forum for exchanging knowledge and discoveries by academicians and practitioners.
We encourage you to submit a 250-word abstract to our track via the online submission system. Abstract submission is open.
Abstracts that are accepted for oral presentation will be available on the conference website and can be cited. Authors can claim them as refereed abstracts. These abstracts will not be copyrighted or indexed in the conference proceedings. Abstracts are welcome in areas such as
- Optimization of operations, planning and design of energy systems
- Data analytics for evaluation, forecasting, control and operation of energy systems
- Policy or regulatory evaluation of energy systems
- Resilience characterization and modeling of energy systems
- Reliability, resource adequacy and safety of energy systems
- Economic aspects of energy system design and operation
- Interdependent modeling of energy and other systems
- Changing business models of energy supply and demand
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning modeling related to energy systems
Authors of abstracts that are accepted for oral presentation will present their work in a conference session. Regular sessions will be 80 minutes and include up to four presenters. Authors of these abstracts will be encouraged to submit (via the online system) an optional six-page paper for double-blind peer review for the conference proceedings. These papers should contain methods and results that are significant and have archival value. All accepted papers will be copyrighted and indexed in the conference proceedings via ProQuest. We will also hold a best track paper competition. Authors of six-page papers will be given the opportunity to participate in this competition without having to publish that paper in the proceedings and thus without releasing its copyright.
If your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author must register for the conference. Otherwise, the presentation will be withdrawn from the program. If such a withdrawn presentation is associated with an accepted six-page paper for the proceedings, that paper will also be removed. The presenting author must attend and present the work in a session at the conference. We request that authors be ready to review other papers in the track.
Some important deadlines are as follows.
