Postdoctoral Fellow Position

Duration: One to two years (extendable)

The Anesthesiology Department at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Healthcare Operations Management / Operations Research.
Job Description:
Conduct research concerning delivery of healthcare in the perioperative services arena and the various patient care centers using quantitative modeling and analytical techniques, qualitative methods, and/or behavioral approaches.
The School of Medicine has a collaborative relationship with the Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH). The postdoctoral candidate will work closely with faculty members at the School of Medicine and the Perioperative Services department at the VUH. In addition to helping inform practice through research, the Fellow will also be expected to publish in high-impact journals in operations management, operations research, as well as in medical journals.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a PhD in industrial engineering, operations management, operations research, economics, or a related field. The candidate should have strong research skills, enthusiasm for conducting research that is highly practical while based in theory, and the ability to work in a team. Candidates with previous research experience in healthcare operations management and/or health services, as well as experience developing simulation models will be given preference.
