    Two Tenure-Track Faculty Positions at the Assistant Professor level


    The Technology and Operations Management Department at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications and nominations for two tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level to begin in August 2020.

    The Position

    The new faculty members will teach undergraduate and graduate classes primarily in Supply Chain/Operations Management and E-Business related subjects such as operations management introduction, business statistics, production management, transportation and logistics, project management, purchasing management, inventory and warehouse management, quality management, service operations management, contract management, ERP, CRM and others. Integration of modern supply chain technologies and data analytical skills into the curriculum is a high priority strategic goal of the department and the candidate is expected to provide significant support and contribution toward this goal. The successful candidate must have a strong interest in research and scholarly activities. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a commitment to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Minimum Requirements 

    • A Ph.D./DBA with concentration in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or closely related fields such as Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Decision Science etc. from accredited institutions (i.e. AACSB for business institutions, ABET for engineering institutions, etc.). ABD candidates will be considered, but must have their degree completed by Aug. 1, 2020
    • Demonstrate commitment to publishing in high quality peer-reviewed journals in their areas of expertise and excellence in teaching
    • Demonstrate ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and/or service, and commitment to teaching and working in a multicultural environment, as well as work or experience working in an inclusive environment 

    Preferred/Desired Qualifications 

    • Academic/Experiential background in Information Systems and/or Business Analytics
    • Prior teaching experience at the university level
    • Relevant industry working experience
    • MBA or relevant business education background

    • Statement of teaching philosophy (maximum one page, single-spaced)
    • Student Success Statement about experiences, successes, and challenges in working with or engaging a diverse student population (maximum one page, single-spaced). This Statement should NOT be the statement of teaching philosophy, but rather a specific statement addressing the diversity issues described earlier
    • Copies of recent classroom teaching evaluations, if available
    • Copies of published research and/or working paper(s)
    • Finalists for the position will be required to provide an official transcript showing completion of doctoral degree
    • Finalists for the position will be required to provide three recent letters of reference

    About the Department

    The Department of Technology and Operations Management has 12 tenure-track faculty members and approximately 450 students.
