    The Healthcare Analytics Laboratory at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, led by Professor Dan Adelman, is accepting applications for a Principal Researcher position. The Principal Researcher will engage in research and project-related activities in the Lab.

    The mission of the Healthcare Analytics Lab is to study the real-world problems of the modern healthcare industry in both classroom and research environments. The Lab is comprised of fellow Principal Researchers, PhD students, medical students and residents, and MBA students. Analyzing significant real-world data provided by partner hospitals and healthcare systems, the team applies sophisticated quantitative analytical methods to study healthcare delivery across a wide range of healthcare domains and topics of interest – including but not limited to the development and application of novel methods of analysis; development, testing, and implementation of new tools; and assessment of operational, financial, and clinical outcomes.

    The appointment is for a two-year term starting on January 1, 2022, or as soon as possible. The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PhD by start date in a field relevant to the research being conducted.
    • Proficiency in in at least one of the following: optimization, statistics, machine learning, or econometrics
    • Must have healthcare domain knowledge.
