Texas Tech University is a comprehensive Tier I research university that includes law and medical schools with an enrollment of more than 35,000 students total, and recently surpassed the Hispanic student population threshold necessary for designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution.  There is a vibrant and energetic research atmosphere both within the IMSE department and across departments in the WCOE, University, and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.  The IMSE department has numerous laboratory facilities (manufacturing, materials characterization, biomedical systems modeling, and ergonomics), and is home to a multidisciplinary center related to safety (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/cehrop/).  Additional information about the department is available at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/imse/

The IMSE department is seeking applicants working in all areas, with preference given to those working in Human Factors, Systems Engineering/Engineering Management, or Operations Research.  Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field, be eligible to work in the United States, and have excellent communication skills.  Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to conduct high quality, methodologically innovative research, document scholarship, generate funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses (including distance education), advise PhD students, and provide appropriate service to the department, university and the profession.  Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable, as is an interest in supporting the WCOE research thrust areas of Energy, Water, Infrastructure, Engineers in Medicine, Nanotechnology and Big Data/Data Visualization.

Interested applicants should submit their application online at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/hr/workattexastech/ for requisition number 15560BR.   A complete application consists of a cover letter, curriculum vitae (CV), one-page statement of research interests, one-page statement of teaching interests, up to three representative publications, and up to three professional references (with recommendation and contact information).  Submission of applications preferred by November 7, 2018.
