The 2020 INFORMS Annual Meeting is offering a special pre-conference seminar that's perfect for the PhD student contemplating a career in practice or academia, the new faculty member just starting out, or the academic who wants to improve their connection with students in the classroom.

Virtually attend the 2020 INFORMS Combined Colloquia. Deadline to Apply is September 10, 2020!

The 2020 INFORMS Combined Colloquia will take place on November 7, 2020. Choose from one of these three outstanding colloquia designed to advance your career:

    • Doctoral Student Colloquium (DSC): Recently reorganized to better help rising PhD students in their second or third year to make the critical decision whether to pursue an academic or practice career
    • New Faculty Colloquium (NFC): An excellent introduction to the challenges of a career in academia for junior faculty
    • Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium (TEC): Provides great guidance for those who want the best methods of connecting in the classroom and teaching analytics, operations research, and management science to students at all levels

To encourage even more participation at the 2020 Combined Colloquia, INFORMS has streamlined the application process for nominators and reduced the fees for these virtual colloquia  - $50 for students, $115 for all others. Also, there are additional funding opportunities available for PhD students through WORMS(Women in OR/MS Forum), MIF (Minority Issues Forum), and the Seth Bonder Foundation sponsorships.  Visit the 2020 Combined Colloquia page for more details.

The colloquia will run all day on Saturday, November 7th and end with a virtual reception Saturday evening. Participants will also have opportunities to interact with each other and with the colloquia speakers during virtual break-out sessions which are incorporated in the schedule.

The deadline is fast approaching! All nomination packages must be received by September 18th, so please respond today! For complete nomination requirements and to make your submission, click here.
