    Dear colleagues

We would like to invite you for the next free SDP webinar on the July 15th @8AM PT:

HOW TO GET THE APPROPRIATE DECISION FRAME

by Alberto Franco, Associate Dean (Teaching) and Professor of Management Sciences in the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University (UK).

Abstract: An appropriate frame is one of the key requirements for good decision making. Indeed, it is widely known in Decision Analysis that getting the frame wrong will lead to solving the wrong problem. But what do frames look like in practice and where do they come from? How do we spot different or competing frames when analyzing a decision? And, perhaps more importantly, what can we do upfront to ensure that we develop a frame that is appropriate for the problem at hand? The webinar will address these and other related questions by drawing on decision science research that examines framing processes in individual and group settings. It will include practical examples to illustrate key concepts, and a set of guidelines to develop effective framing processes.

Speaker Bio: Alberto Franco is a decision scientist with more than 20 years of experience as a researcher and consultant to organizations such as Bombardier, Whitbread, Network Rail, Defra and the World Health Organization. His research examines how human behavior affects, or is affected by, the use of designed decision processes and tools, and his work has been published in, among others, British Journal of Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Group Decision and Negotiation, The Leadership Quarterly, and Risk Analysis.

This webinar is sponsored by the Society of Decision Professionals in collaboration with the Decision Analysis Society.
