The INFORMS Advocacy Governance Committee (AGC) is seeking nominations and self-nominations of INFORMS members to serve on the Committee starting on January 1, 2022, for a two-year term. The purpose of the AGC is provide strategic guidance, oversight, and counsel for the INFORMS Advocacy Initiative. The goal of the INFORMS Advocacy Initiative is to increase the appropriate use of operations research and analytics in policymaking and governmental operations, and to explain the returns on research investment in these fields in terms of policy impacts.

Several OR/MS Today articles and a Resoundingly Human podcast offer information and reflections on the trajectory of this initiative.

We are especially interested in INFORMS members whose research or professional experience has policy relevance, who have current or past working experience in federal or state government, who have worked with the government on research projects or in consulting/advising roles, and/or have previously been engaged with the Advocacy Initiative.

With that background, we invite nominations and self-nominations of INFORMS members to the AGC by November 24 at this link.

    Best regards,

Jeff Cohen, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer
Kara Morgan, Chair-Elect, Advocacy Governance Committee
Beril Toktay, VP of Marketing, Communications, and Outreach
