Special Issue on Freight Transportation and Logistics
We are pleased to publish a special issue of Networks that includes a selection of high-quality papers presented at the seventh Odysseus conference held in Cagliari, Italy in 2018. The six articles in this July 2021 issue provide the following contributions to freight transportation and logistics:
• exact and heuristic approaches to the directional sensor network lifetime maximization problem,
• modeling and heuristic (GRASP) solution to the constrained forward shortest path tour problem,
• Lagrangian solution approach to the minimum spanning tree problem in which there are conflicting edge pairs,
• two-stage mixed-integer model and valid inequalities for a shelter location and evacuation routing problem,
• two-step optimization approach tor the optimal distribution of perishable products,
• two-stage stochastic programming model and solution approaches for a multiperiod transshipment location-allocation problem with flow synchronization.
We trust that the readership of INFORMS will find these articles to be of interest. Two of these papers are published Open Access.
