Non-tenure Track Faculty or Visiting Position in Operations

The Department of Operations invites applicants for a non-tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Operations (a higher rank will be considered commensurate with qualifications) to begin August 2019. We seek candidates with potential for excellence in teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs.  We particularly prefer an individual who has prior teaching and/or professional experience in Operations Management, Operations Research, or Statistics. We desire candidates who can help us to design and deliver courses in our undergraduate program in management, the M.B.A. program, and in our master's degree programs (MSM) in Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics. The potential to take a leadership position in the management of these programs and to participate in executive education is also desirable. The candidate should have a graduate degree in Operations/Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related area. A doctoral degree would be a plus. Having business and/or teaching experience, or other appropriate background to which business students would relate is desirable.

The Department will also consider applications for a one year Visiting Faculty position to begin August 2019.  Although this is a full-time teaching position, we seek a faculty member with a research focus in Operations and Supply Chain Management (broadly construed). All candidates should have a Ph.D. or expect to complete a Ph.D. in the near future in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field.  The candidate should be able to teach and communicate effectively to students in one or more of our undergraduate, MBA, MSM in Supply Chain Management and MSM in Business Analytics programs.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled and the applicants should e-mail a c.v., copies of written research papers (if available), evidence of teaching effectiveness (course evaluations, for example), and should also arrange for at least three letters of reference to be sent electronically to Ms. Pamela White at oprerecruitment@case.edu.

The Department has a long and distinguished history and granted the first Ph.D. in operations research.  The Weatherhead School's MBA and Undergraduate programs (in which the successful candidate would teach) are well ranked. The University is ten minutes from downtown Cleveland with world-class cultural venues within walking distance and excellent residential areas close by.
