Dear colleagues,
We are happy to announce the finalists of the 2021 Junior Scholar Paper Competition for the College of Behavior in Operations Management. Similar to last year, we received a large number of high quality, methodologically diverse papers, covering a wide range of topics. With the indispensable input of the referees, the awards committee selected the following finalist papers (in no particular order, *denotes the junior scholar entrant) :
- Alp Sungu (* London Business School) and Kamalini Ramdas (London Business School) "Data Caps Expand Access to Digitally-led Health Services – Evidence from a Mumbai Slum"
- Park Sinchaisri (* Wharton), Hamsa Bastani (Wharton), Osbert Bastani (School of Engineering-U of Pennsylvania), "Learning Best Practices: Can Machine Learning Improve Human Decision-Making?"
- Zhenzhen Jia (* Fudan Univesity), Kejia Hu (Vanderbilt University), Jian-Qiang Hu (Fudan University), Vishal Ahuja (Cox, SMU) - "To What Extent Do Workers' Preferences Matter?"
The finalist papers will be presented on Tuesday, May 4, 10:15-11:15 in a special session at the upcoming POMS conference. The winner and runner-up will be announced at the CBOM business meeting.
