    Opportunity: The Information Systems (IS) department at Boston University's Questrom School of Business invites applications for its PhD program from motivated and intellectually curious candidates. Applicants should have a prior degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or another relevant technical degree. Relevant experience in research is desirable but not required.


    Questrom provides PhD students with a generous stipend and tuition support for five years. Additional funding is also available to support research and conference travel.


    Faculty: Our world class faculty conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Information Systems, Economics, and Machine Learning. We have global experts in fintech, digital healthcare, online reputation systems, platform economics, and social media in our faculty. Our faculty serves on the editorial boards of leading business school journals including Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, and Marketing Science.  We organize the leading conference on Platform Strategy research. Committed to research excellence, our department also features a vibrant seminar series, featuring leading international scholars from related fields. These seminars create great collaboration opportunities for our faculty and students. 


    Student Research and Accomplishments: PhD students from our department have joined tenure track faculty positions at top research Universities worldwide (University of Minnesota, Hongkong University of Science and Technology, McGill University, etc). They have won best paper awards at flagship conferences and workshops, including Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST), Workshop in Information Systems and Economics (WISE), and Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS). And their research has appeared in top journals such as Management Science, Information Systems Research, and MIS Quarterly.
