    Qualifications

    The successful candidate will have a record of high-quality scholarly research and demonstrated teaching excellence. While the research interests will lie in the domain of Information Systems Management, candidates whose research meets the strategic priorities in Beedie School's Vision 2022 such as innovation, social responsibility, and a global perspective, will be prioritized. Candidates with a scholarly program that emphasizes novel business research questions in the newer domains of Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Agile Systems Development, Distributed Ledger Technologies, Cloud Computing, Process Data Mining, and others, will also get special consideration. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to engage with practitioner communities and make an impact through their research.

    Applicants should have a PhD degree in MIS or closely-allied disciplines.  ABD candidates will also be considered.


    Duties

    The candidate will be expected to teach courses in traditional MIS areas such as Business Database Management, Digital Business Strategy, Business Software Development, Information Systems Analysis and Design, Data Mining, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Additional courses serving recent technological trends and industry needs will be encouraged. Teaching responsibilities also include regular review of course content covered by part-time faculty as well as coaching students for case competitions. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to Beedie's research and teaching excellence.  In addition, the successful candidate will actively participate in Beedie's collegial self-governance and offer assistance and guidance to students, peers and the academic community through activities such as committee work, mentorship and experiential learning opportunities.

    Please indicate in your submission whether you are attending the Conference on Information Systems and Technology at INFORMS between Oct 18-20, 2019, Seattle, or International Conference on Information Systems between December 15-18, 2019. Faculty members from the MIS Area will be attending these conferences and would like to use this opportunity to meet prospective candidates. To be considered for an interview at INFORMS, please submit your application by October 15, 2019. We will continue to accept applications until our final deadline of November 15, 2019 to anticipate further interviews at the International Conference on Information Systems in December. We expect the position will start July 1, 2020 or on a mutually agreed upon date.

    A complete application including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of research and teaching interests and teaching evaluations from the past three years, should be submitted in electronic format. Names of three referees will be required at the time of application and reference requests will be sent directly through our office.
