    Dear Colleagues,

The INFORMS Service Science Section will host the business meeting at the INFORMS Annual Meeting on October 27 (Wednesday) at 8-9 am PDT (11 am-12 pm EDT). Both members of the Service Science Section and non-members who are interested in research and practice in service science are welcome to join. We will

    • Report the events and conferences sponsored by the section for the past year,
    • Introduce new initiatives and plans for the next year,
    • Hear the updates from the Service Science journal,
    • Announce and recognize the finalists and winners for the 2021 Service Science Best Cluster Paper award and IBM Best Student Paper award.
The section will also host a Doctoral Student Consortium on October 26 (Tuesday) at 6:15-7:15 pm PDT (9:15-10:15 pm EDT). Current doctoral students, as well as all members and non-members who are interested, are welcome to join. Current panelists include (alphabetically) Tian Chan (Emory), Subodha Kumar (Temple), Tava Olsen (Auckland), Georgia Perakis (MIT), Nicholas C. Petruzzi (Penn State), moderated by Meng Li (Univ. of Houston). The panel will discuss the job market, career path, and journal policies in service research (see the attached announcement for details).

Both events can be accessed via the same Zoom link provided below. You do not need to register for the 2021 INFORMS conference to attend the business meeting and the consortium.
